Former Deputy Director General Of NIA Dies In Custody

The former Deputy Director of the former National Intelligence Agency (NIA) Louis Gomez, has died in custody at Mile 2 Prison.

He was among the nine former NIA officers accused of killing the late Solo Sandeng. He has been in prison for over a year.  Since joining the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), he has served in different positions at the Agency, before appointed Deputy Director.

It is still unclear what led to his death but sources said he has not been well and reportedly said to have been in solitary confinement.

The authorities are yet to conduct an investigation into the cause of death.

This may look at factors that may have contributed to his death and is usually carried out by a qualified health professional. Mr. Gomez is survived by his wife and two children,
