Tom Saintfiet Is Not Right For The Scorpions

Steven Lavone a renowned Sports Journalist in Lomé, Togo has said that the newly appointed Senior team Coach of the Gambia is not the right man for the Job to enable the Scorpions qualify to the African Cup of Nations.

Steven Lavone made the comments during a teleconference with reporters from Lomé, Togo where the Belgian coach was in charge of the Togolese National Team for a year.

Steven went further to explain that Coach Tom Saintfiet won only three matches since 2015 and that is a cause for concern. It will be miraculous for Gambia under Sanfiet to qualify from the group with opponents like Algeria, Togo and Benin. Steven noted that Sanfiet was roving in the market as a free coach prompting the Gambia Football Federation to seize the opportunity.

According to Steven, Coach Sanfiet came to Togo in 2015 with a two year contract.  The Togolese were never at ease with him especially his confrontations with all-time team Captain Emmanuel Adebayo. In his first game in charge of Togo against Liberia in Lomé during the AFCON qualifiers in 2017 he maliciously refused Adebayo Captaining the side. Adebayo initially refused to play in that game but later agreed to play and scoring in the tie.

Sanfiet before being in the free market was coach of the Malta Football team but was relieved of his duties after local and international media reports reported that he had applied to be the next coach of Cameroon a job he never got

Well since He has eventually landed here we cannot but wait and see what he has to offer to the Scorpions.
